Scotiabank
Scotiabank is the third largest Canadian bank and was established in 1832 as the Bank of Nova Scotia. Scotiabank began their expansion early on, moving into Manitoba in 1882 and into the American Midwest a decade later. Scotiabank purchased the Mexican bank Inverlat and their locations operate throughout Mexico. As a member of the ATM Global Alliance, Scotiabank clients do not pay any additional banking fees at other ATM Global Alliance institutions when travelling internationally. Scotiabank head offices are located in Toronto and they operate 2000 branches in some 50 countries, serving over 12.5 million customers globally. Cineplex Entertainment partnered with Scotiabank in 2007 to create their SCENE debit and credit cards, which reward purchases with points that can be used for free movies and concerts. Subsequently, several Cineplex theatres have been renamed 'Scotiabank Theatres'. Scotiabank supports community involvement and sponsors many sporting events and teams: the Canadian Running Series, CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, the National Hockey League (NHL), the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Canadian Cricket Team.
