National Australia Bank (NAB) is one of the big four banks in Australia, and is the 17th largest bank worldwide when ranked by market capitalization. NAB has over 8.3 million customers and operates in 10 countries around the world, with over 1800 branches and 4600 ATMs worldwide. They were founded in 1893 and are headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, primarily serving Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Asia and the United Kingdom. NAB is a publicly traded company on the Australian Stock Exchange under ASX:NAB. They offer a wide variety of financial services, including Consumer Banking, Business Banking, Wholesale Banking, Insurance and Wealth Management. In 2010, NAB had a net income of $4.58 billion AUD, and total assets of $685 billion AUD. NAB takes their corporate social responsibility very seriously, and have a target of spending 1% of cash earnings before tax on corporate responsibility initiatives. NAB invested $33.5 million AUD towards these initiatives in 2008. They are a major sponsor of Australian rules football and has an initiative named Auskick that helps young footballers. NAB employs over 40,000 people worldwide and have more than 460,000 shareholders.
