Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy is when a person or company petitions the court to attain the legal status of being bankrupt, at they cannot repay what they owe to their creditors. In the United States, bankruptcy is a blanket term applied to both individuals and organizations, but in the United Kingdom, companies will declare insolvency while only individuals can apply for bankruptcy.
